AVAN IVAN - MOVIE REVIEW
CAST - VISHAL, ARYA, G.M.KUMAR, RK
DIRECTION - BALA
PRODUCTION - AGS ENTERTAINTMENT
RATING-6.9/10
VERDICT - ONLY FOR VISHAL'S PERFORMANCE ...ARYA AND G.M.KUMAR............NOTHING NEW
Avan Ivan was a much expected movie from Bala as he was trying a full length comedy....but what actually has turned out is a movie to be watched only for the performance of the lead actors and there is a serious lack of full length comedy....The movie could have been much better if importance was also given to story and screenplay....the direction is good....Vishal has done full justice to the role....Bala on his part could have done justice to the audience....Arya , the fat boy and G.M.kumar have also done well...the BGM ,editing and cinematography are too good...
What I feel is that atleast Bala could have changed the locations as these seem to remind us of PITHAMAGAN....and also the characterisation of the two heroines could have been better...More importance should have been given to the script..........
Vishal and Arya caree the movie forward....Not a Bala movie at all...So next time when he returns he must try to change his formula and backdrop as these seem not to work anymore...
Poor script plays a spoiler!

AARANYA KANDAM MOVIE REVIEW!
CAST - SAMPATH RAJ, JACKI SHROFF ,RAVI KRISHNA , YASMIN PONNAPPA , SOMASUNDARAM
DIRECTION- THIAGARAJAN KUMARARAJA
PRODUCER - S.P.B. CHARAN
RATING - 8.2/10
MY VERDICT - The real international quality Tamil film.....a masterpiece by a debutant diector....needs a standing ovation for the guts and determination to make this movie and release this after a very very long legal battle...hats off to the makers of a world class Indian cinema
REVIEW - This movie doesn't have any hero introduction, punch dialogues, separate comedy track, beautiful songs....or the numerous so-called entertainment ingredients in it...yet this movie entertains us...because of the strong characterization..screenplay..and commendable performance...this is one of the first movies in tamil cinema in film noir genre...the movie might sound to be gangster flick...but the difference here is the treatment..we might have seen numerous gangster flicks from our matinee idols..yet this movie will stand apart from all of it...becuse here the story and characters are the king...not the usual matinee gods....Everyone have performed their part well.especially the small boy who plays "kodukkapuli"...his timing and dialogues are excellent...the movie has humour and satire filled in the dialoguea of the characters....the bgm by Yuvan Shankar Raja adds to the mood of the film....
Coming to the plot you have to go and watch it...because otherwise you will loose the fun....there are a good number of twists and turns in the climax....Ravi Krishna as Sappai, Sampath as Pasupathi ,Jackie Shroff as Annachi and Yasmin as Subbu perform well...you have to watch out for the climax...where everything changes....overall the movie is on par with international films like "City of God", "Pulp Fiction"....This one of the finest Indian movies that depict the Chennai mafia perfectly and in a very realistic manner..
The onlything about the movie is that..all sections of the audience might not like this one....
GO FOR THIS ONE!!
